HBA San Francisco - Corporate Athlete Workshop - August 28, 2010

Event Details:
The world is facing a human energy crisis. Crushing workloads, a 24/7 economy, and ever-increasing expectations require that leaders skillfully access high energy levels whenever and wherever the work experience demands it. Everyone in the organization is under constant pressure to perform. Year after year, workers are asked to do more with less, be more productive and reach greater levels of profitability. Over time, without training, the demands on our energy will exceed our capacity. To meet the increasing demands, many individuals sacrifice their health, family, and personal happiness. Executives conscientiously set time aside for the things that really matter, but find themselves unable to bring their full and best energy to the time that they have. The most critical resource we have as human beings is our energy, and most of us fail to manage it effectively.

Managing energy, not time, is the key to sustained high performance and personal renewal: Effectively managing energy requires training like an elite athlete- not an athlete in sport but a Corporate Athlete®. To increase capacity for performing under pressure, leaders must train strategically to improve their ability to expend and recover energy more efficiently and effectively.

The Corporate Athlete Course is designed to strategically help participants become more productive and effective under pressure by managing their energy more effectively. Participants will learn how to expand their capacity and develop performance rituals in all areas- physical, emotional, and mental- to make systemic changes in both their personal and professional life. Participants will learn how to train like a Corporate Athlete, engaging their spirit, mind, heart, and body in completing the important missions they take on every day.

The Human Performance Institute’s thirty years of research and work with elite performers in high-stress arenas has made it clear that managing energy, not time, is the single most important factor in sustained high performance. Led by Dr. Jim Loehr and Dr. Jack Groppel, the performance experts at the Human Performance Institute in Orlando, FL have established a new category of performance training: Energy Management. The Human Performance Institute’s technology of managing energy is measurement-based and is grounded in the sciences of performance psychology, exercise physiology, and nutrition. The application of this technology has had a profound impact on performance in the high stress arenas of business, sport, and medicine.

The Human Performance Institute has trained thousands of top performers to overcome barriers that have existed for years and create new pathways for systemic change. The Institute’s Energy Management Technology provides the tools necessary to be fully engaged with the people and things that matter most in life.
