Even though I can't see any of you, if I asked you by a show of hands how many of you liked waiting on hold with insurance carriers, I don't think I would see a single hand raised. Understanding your patients is a different story, but still not an area where you would like to spend your working hours making phone calls.

With today's simple technology of call waiting, the get through rate to patients is 10% or less when you're making the calls. Sending additional statements to them after they've been avoided for 60 days isn't likely to generate a different response on month 5, then on month 4.

If the patient was legitimately trying to pay, but avoided you to buy some time, a 3rd party will most likely get them back on track. Again, why pay a 33% fee when a fixed fee is available.
