Business Development - Healthcare
I. Position Summary
The Business Development Executive works with and under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer primarily on indentifying, assessing, planning and developing business relationships to advance and grow Sound Physician’s healthcare delivery system including contract development with new hospital partners and strategic affiliations with local and regional health systems, hospitals and provider groups. Additional responsibilities are: 1) supporting the implementation of Sound’s strategic plan related to the development of regional market growth in conjunction with the regional operations teams2) supporting senior management in creating development plans for new business opportunities, and 3) research, assessment and the cultivation of opportunities to grow Sound's business including competitive assessments of target geographic markets and service segments, industry trends and new products that will drive change in the market place.
The Business Development Executive will develop and manage our business strategy to increase revenue streams in new and existing markets.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Assume responsibility for the identification, evaluation, engagement, and initial contract negotiation of a variety of relationships for Sound Physicians, Inc. Thought leadership, command of unique ideas, an understanding of the healthcare environment and strong sales acumen are required to consistently meet or exceed growth  initiatives.
• Ability to maintain a high level of new business development activity with full sales cycle responsibility in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience managing accounts, and building strong relationships with business partners.
• Analyze the industry marketplace and develop an 'industry expert' understanding to support the business strategy and inform the product growth initiatives.
• Strong negotiation skills and experience working with C-Level healthcare executives.
III. Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent knowledge and experience with a concentration in finance, healthcare administration or business administration. A Master's degree in Healthcare or Business Administration is preferred.
• A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in a healthcare environment.
• This position requires significant healthcare experience at various levels, including leadership. Experience must include ability to sell the value of process improvement, performance management, project management, and contribution to strategic plan development, patient satisfaction, and staff/physician relations improvement.
• Sought after client/project experience include mergers and acquisitions, joint business ventures, strategic planning, long-range financial planning and portfolio analysis, and service line and business planning for new clinical services and programs.
• Demonstrates excellent quantitative and analytic skills, and solid critical thinking skills.
• Outstanding presentation skills.
• Demonstrates superior skills and abilities to do active listening, time management, and oral and written communication.
• Familiarity with hospital, ancillary and clinic operations and core business and financial processes preferred.
• Outstanding computer skills including solid knowledge of spreadsheets (MS Excel), word processing (MS Word), building professional presentations (MS PowerPoint), and email and calendaring (MS Outlook).
• Ability to adapt to a changing environment quickly and easily.
