Operations are responsible for the operational and managerial functions of assigned projects with a clear focus on revenue growth and operational efficiency. There will be a strong operational focus for this position which includes expense management, talent acquisition and retention, staff development on all levels, training, employee productivity and exceptional customer service (Remarkable Patient Experience). Additionally, the Director of Ambulatory Surgery Operations will spend a significant amount of time developing and executing a business plan that helps expand it’s market share in assigned projects, including (but not limited to) growing revenue through the expansion of referrals from network providers, insurance carriers, hospitals, clinics, and physician practice groups.
EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING: Current licensure as an RN in North Carolina. BSN. Masters in Nursing or other field (MBA, Public Health) required.
WORK EXPERIENCE: Three years experience as RN in Ambulatory Surgery Center with at least 3 - 5 years management experience supervising multiple surgery center locations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Has knowledge and skills necessary to modify care according to patient's age.
Has the ability to interpret information to identify each patient's requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs.
Thorough knowledge of departmental and institutional policies and procedures.
Considerable knowledge of the organization and management of fiscal and human resources.
Skill in data analysis, organization and presentation. Computer skills helpful.
Ability to manage departmental operations and provide support to users of Perioperative Services (nurses, physicians, patients, etc.).
Ability to work effectively with physicians, Administration, other departmental directors, Nursing and outside agencies.
Ability to facilitate committee meetings for productive and effective activity.
Extensive knowledge of trends in health care and community service systems.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Strong leadership skills such as creativity, cooperation, independent judgment, ability to delegate, adaptability, perseverance, high energy level and a strong work ethic. Possible exposure to biohazards agents and chemicals; conflict in balancing demands of workload volume and accuracy; mental and emotional frustration resulting from dealing with requests from many areas and balancing requests with department capacity.
