TiE Silicon Valley presents Aneesh Chopra, White House CTO
It is my distinct pleasure to invite you to a very special event featuring the Honorable Aneesh Chopra, Technology Advisor to President Obama, which will be held on Saturday, September 19th from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm. A formal invitation will follow specifying the venue.
Mr. Chopra will provide a keynote address followed by an expert panel discussion. The panel will consist of prominent executives and entrepreneurs from the fields of infrastructure, energy, health and education technologies. As America's first Chief Technology Officer (CTO) with the responsibility for setting a technology agenda, Mr. Chopra will share with us his vision to ensure our nation’s global competitiveness. This is a unique opportunity to provide your input on how to incorporate technology into government policy, programs and operations - the centerpiece of the President's stated objectives.
Aneesh Chopra, 37, is the Chief Technology Officer and Associate Director for Technology in the White House Office of Science & Technology Policy. He was sworn in on May 22, 2009. Prior to his appointment, he served as Secretary of Technology for the Commonwealth of Virginia from January 2006 until April 2009. He previously served as Managing Director with the Advisory Board Company, a publicly-traded healthcare think tank. Mr. Chopra was named to Government Technology magazine’s Top 25 in their Doers, Dreamers, and Drivers issue in 2008. He received his B.A. from The Johns Hopkins University and his M.P.P. from Harvard’s Kennedy School. He and his wife Rohini have two young children.
I recently had the privilege of hearing Mr. Chopra speak and found him to be extremely articulate and impressive. I sincerely hope you will accept our invitation to attend this exclusive, one of a kind event. I believe it will provide you with a unique opportunity to engage in a detailed discussion with Mr. Chopra for the purpose of furthering the nation’s technology agenda, and it will give Silicon Valley an influential voice in our national technology policy.
