PR- August 18, 2009, CHICAGO, ILLINOIS – As Electronic Health Record (EHR) Solution Providers race to increase user performance ratings of their systems, User Centric, Inc, offers practical advice for evaluating and designing for the user experience of these products. A series of Webinars will highlight techniques used to measure usability as well as how to design the system that maximizes clinician performance while increasing adoption.
Measuring and improving the usability of Health Information Technology (Health IT) systems has been an important topic of discussion in the recent months. With pressure to achieve meaningful use as a means to realize the HITECH incentives, Health IT professionals are seeking education around tools and methods needed to improve usability and ultimately adoption of their Health IT systems. User Centric, Inc. had initially offered a more localized full-day Health IT Usability Seminar to be held in Chicago, but due to overwhelming demand, opened up the seminar to a National audience via an online presentation series.
Robert Schumacher, PhD, Managing Director and Presenter of the Webinar Series commented, “It’s important to note that a key factor involved with some implementation failures is lack of in-depth usability research prior to system deployment. If Health IT professionals and solution providers can measure and design for the user experience, a barrier to a successful implementation can be overcome.â€
The Webinar Series, “Learn How to Improve the User Experience in Health IT,†will begin September 3 and consist of four weekly 90-minute presentations. Full details can be found at http://www.hit-usability.com
